The position
As for now we are searching for a Postdoctoral Researcher for our DevOps Team located in Vienna. We are a leading team in bioprocess development and data science, focused on advancing biotechnology through innovative modeling and data-driven solutions. Our goal is to simulate and optimize bioprocesses using advanced mathematical and data science methods in a collaborative environment.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Develop and apply mathematical models and data science methods to enable systematic understanding, simulation, and optimization of bioprocesses.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to create impactful tools that leverage AI and data science for improved decision-making in bioprocess development.
- Foster transparent communication and knowledge sharing across the bioprocess development department and related teams
- Advise leadership and stakeholders on data science and digitalization, supporting cross-functional and external collaborations.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in bioprocess engineering, chemical engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in mathematical modeling and data science for bioprocess analysis and optimization.
- Proficiency with professional AI/ML tools, particularly within the Python ecosystem.
- Experience in developing end-to-end data science solutions, ideally in an industrial context.
- Proven ability to drive innovation in modelling and data science.
- Solid capabilities in project management, team collaboration, mentoring, and interpersonal communication. Fluency in both German and English are essential.

The remuneration for this position starts at EUR 59.220 gross annual target salary per year (full time). The actual salary package depends on professional experience and qualifications. We will be happy to discuss further details in person.
